Police Officer Rushed To Hospital After Incident In Westchester

A police officer was rushed to the hospital early in the morning after suffering a medical event.

The officer, who is assigned to the Yonkers Police Department's 3rd Precinct, was transported to a local area hospital on Monday, June 17 and is currently in stable condition, said Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said.

"The incident is under investigation," Politopoulos said. "Out of an abundance of caution, hazardous materials crews responded to ensure the safety of our members and the public; preliminary results indicate there were no hazardous materials found, and there is no danger to the public."
